Leading legal figures have put forward a radical proposal to curb the influence of black-market drug operations in Sydney and abroad. Changes to legislation surrounding the legality of medicinal cannabis are afoot in New South Wales after recommendations made by Nationals MP Kevin Anderson. The proposed new laws mirror the approach taken in numerous countries, including the United States of America. On 18 October 2012 the UK telegraph reported the sentencing proceedings relating to a cannabis farm.
